In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month
Fembot, in collaboration with the ASUO Women’s Center, the Center for the Study of Women in Society, the School of Journalism and Communication and the UO Libraries is hosting events in Eugene, Oregon and online to write women into Wikipedia.
- Friday, March 7: Sarah Stierch (visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley Center for New Media, Susan B. Miller Fellow) will visit the University of Oregon to conduct a Wikipedia Workshop for undergraduates, faculty members and graduate students interested in learning how to contribute and edit content on Wikipedia. This event will be streamed live on the Fembot website and will take place from 3 - 5 p.m. at 221 Allen Hall. Participants should bring their own computer to the event.
- Saturday, March 8, groups will convene to put their new skills to the test and contribute entries on feminist figures (from history, art, literature, politics, government, social movements, science) to Wikipedia, from 1 - 4 p.m. at 221 Allen Hall. Participants should bring their own computer to the event.
