You are invited to the to the second annual Comics Art Festival of Eugene. CAFE will take place from 11am-6pm Sunday, October 18, 2026 at the Lane County Events Center Auditorium.
The festival is a celebration of comics, art, and storytelling in the Pacific Northwest. Organized by Books With Pictures Eugene, this free, all-ages event brings together creators, readers, and fans for a day of connection and discovery. CAFE showcases the work of independent cartoonists, small publishers, and local talent, with a focus on uplifting diverse voices and fostering community through the joy of comics. The event will be hosting Latinx comics legend Jaime Hernandez, founder of comics journalism and UO alum Joe Sacco, and UO English faculty Mat Johnson, and so many others (including quite a few UO students!).
With guest artists, panels, workshops, and a whole alley full of amazing comics artists, CAFE is Eugene’s homegrown comics festival—welcoming to longtime fans and curious newcomers alike!
Presented by Books with Pictures Eugene, Lane Arts, and the UO Comics Studies Program. Please see the full schedule of events and more information here.
Members of the CSWS Decolonial, Feminist Futures of Comics Studies RIG will be participating in the event. Information on the RIG can be found on the CSWS website.
