Medieval and Early Modern Inquiries into Gender and Sexuality (MEMIGS) RIG

This RIG was active in AY 2013-14 and is currently on hiatus.

The Medieval and Early Modern Inquiries into Gender and Sexuality (MEMIGS) RIG promotes intellectual exchange among scholars interested in the study of women and of questions of sexuality and gender in the Middle Ages and the early modern period. The cross-period temporal specification is indicative of the general ethos of the RIG. Interdisciplinary in practice and comparative in scope, it will seek to further ongoing dialogue among scholars and graduate students whose paths might otherwise rarely cross.

In the coming academic year, MEMIGS will organize quarterly works-in-progress events involving UO faculty and graduate students as well as the visit of a scholar from another institution. Our invited speaker will participate in a workshop on a recent publication for which interested faculty will prepare in a reading group and a public lecture.
