IRB Roundtable: A Short Presentation and Q&A for Graduate Students

Designed for graduate students or other scholars new to human subjects research, this panel will examine the philosophical and practical dimensions of human subjects protocols and the IRB (Institutional Review Board) process. As two feminist scholars engaged in U.S.-based and international fieldwork, professors Lisa Gilman and Lise Nelson will discuss the ins and outs of human subjects review and related basic tenets of research ethics in the humanities and social sciences. An extended question and answer period will allow the audience time to clarify remaining questions or concerns about human subjects protocols.
