Research Grants for Faculty (and staff)
Available to UO faculty and staff (with the appropriate end degree), these grants support research and/or creative work from a range of disciplines on topics related to women and gender (to $6,000). Click here for the pdf application form and directions.
Research Grants for Graduate Students
CSWS Graduate Student Research Grants
Available to UO graduate students, these grants support research and/or creative work from a range of disciplines on topics related to women and gender (to $2,500). Click here for the pdf application form and directions.
CSWS Laurel Research Award
Available to UO graduate students in the beginning stages of his/her degree work. The student must be nominated by his or her mentoring faculty member for this award which supports research on women and gender. The recipient will be awarded $2,250 and receive tuition remission for one term in cases where appropriate. An additional $250 can be awarded to a faculty member for expenses directly related to mentoring or collaborative research with the student. To qualify, applicants must be either a currently registered UO international graduate student or a currently registered UO graduate student from an ethnic minority community as defined by the UO Campus Diversity Plan [e.g. African-American, Latino(a)/Chicano(a), Native American, Asian American or Pacific Islander who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident]. Jane Grant Dissertation Fellowship

This prestigious fellowship, honoring the wife of CSWS’s benefactor, William Harris, will be given to an outstanding scholar at the doctoral level. This fellowship is awarded to support dissertations from a range of disciplines and topics related to women and gender. Only UO graduate students who have been advanced to candidacy (or will be by the date of the award) are eligible to be considered for this fellowship of $10,000 and tuition remission. Jane Higdon Senior Thesis Scholarship
Deadline: November 16, 2009
Funding amount: $1,000
The Center for the Study of Women in Society invites applications from University of Oregon undergraduate students writing a senior thesis or producing a comparable senior project anywhere on campus, within a wide range of disciplines, as long as the thesis or project relates to women and/or gender.
This award honors the life and work of Jane Higdon. Financial support for this scholarship is provided by the Jane Higdon Foundation. Awards are subject to conditions set by CSWS, which falls under the purview of the Office of the Vice President for Research. For more information, please refer to the application guidelines.
