In conjunction with the UO Queer Film Festival, there will be a screening of the film Bixa Travesty (Brazil, 2018). This is a documentary about Linn Da Quebrada, a black trans woman hip pop artist, musician, and performer from São Paulo. She raises her voice for queers of color from the favelas.
Students from Professor Mayra Bottaro’s winter seminar “Queer Temporalities and Media Aesthetics” will hold a graduate student panel and roundtable discussion following the film. Title of the panel: “I am a woman with a cock”: queerness from the favela.
