CSWS Programs
CSWS offers a number
of programs and initiatives that not only promotes the study of gender
in a particular areas of focus, but also brings feminist advanced research
together with social activism and with K-12 teaching.
- CSWS supports the formation and continuing activities of collaborating
scholars. Our Research Interest Groups (RIGs)
have memberships that include faculty and graduate students of the
University of Oregon as well as community participants.
- The Feminist Humanities Project
is a collaborative effort to incorporate and advance the historical
study of womnen in gender in all areas of humanities teaching and
research. See also, the Reclaiming the Past RIG and the Wired Humanities Project.
- The Women in the Northwest Research
Initiative sponsors and promotes research that expands our knowledge
of women's lives in the Pacific Northwest. Currently project participants are working on an expansive project concerning gender, families, and immigration.

- The Research Program on Women's Health, a former CSWS program, dedicated itself to improving the health and well-being of women across
the life span. Although this program is no longer housed at CSWS, we keep our affiliation with Dr. S. Marie Harvey at Oregon State University and hope to work on joint projects in the future and/or reinstate a Women's Health Initiative at CSWS. In the meantime, please take advantage of the materials presented.
- The Road
Scholars - a community lecture program that expands our mission
to disseminate research on women and gender by moving beyond the university
borders to share opportunities for learning and dialogue with communities
across the state.
