Q&A Session with UO Research Compliance Services
a CSWS brown-bag luncheon for graduate students
Carolyn Craig, research compliance administrator with UO Research Compliance Services, will give a brief introduction on requirements for human subjects research, followed by a question-and-answer session. She will be joined by Mary Hanabury, Research Compliance Services’ assistant director. This session is intended to help guide graduate students who plan to conduct research that involves interacting with, or gathering personally identifiable information about, people (e.g. conducting interviews, focus groups, surveys). They will present basics on:
- What human subjects research is
- What current regulations guide protection of human subjects
- History of development of the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- What the UO’s IRB is looking for in your application.
