Immigration - Front and Center

The Women in the Northwest Initiative’s Project on Gender, Families and Immigration has organized a conference on

Gender, Families and Latino Immigration in Oregon for May 22-23, 2008.

Initiative members are also sponsoring the creation of a new Center for Latino and Latin American Studies on campus - http://cllas.uoregon.edu/

 

 


Summer Institute on
Mesoamerican Cultures and Histories Funded

The Wired Humanities Project, partially funded by the Center for the Study of Women in Society and directed by Judith Musick and Stephanie Wood, has won another grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This one will fund a summer institute for school teachers (grades 6-12) at the University of Oregon, to take place July 14-August 8, 2008 (4 weeks), and titled "From the Yucatan to 'The Halls of Montezuma' -- Mesoamerican Cultures and Their Histories." 

All accepted applicants were notified.
