Maceo Persson

Field Organizer, Basic Rights Oregon

Maceo joined Basic Rights Oregon after graduating from the University of Oregon in 2006 with a BA in Ethnic Studies. He worked as a program co-coordinator of Back To Back: Allies of Human Dignity, a program of Community Alliance of Lane County (CALC) while attending University of Oregon. Maceo spent his time at CALC working primarily on transgender rights with Lane Gender Task Force, Latino and Immigrant rights with CAUSA and Educación y Justicia Para La Raza, and on diversity efforts at the University of Oregon through UO Action. He is currently on the steering committee of the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE). Maceo is excited to be working with the Basic Rights Oregon team to advance our movement for social justice.
