Peggy Pascoe, UO professor of history, continues to win honors for her book, What Comes Naturally: Miscegenation Law and the Making of Race in America. After winning two of the major annual prizes from the Organization of American Historians earlier this year, she has repeated this feat. Pascoe learned in mid-October that she is the winner of two of the major annual prizes given by the American Historical Association. They are the John H. Dunning Prize, given for the best book in U.S. history (any field, any period) and the Joan Kelly Memorial Prize in Women’s History. The award ceremony will take place at the annual meeting of the AHA in January in San Diego. Pascoe is a CSWS faculty affiliate. Read more at InsideOregon.
